Introduction

Kudos Chart ("we," "our," or "the app") is developed by Brent Kaplan. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our iOS app.

Information We Do Not Collect

Kudos Chart does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. We do not use advertising SDKs, third-party analytics, or any third-party tracking tools. We have no servers that receive your data.

Data Stored on Your Device

All app data — including tasks, rewards, star balances, achievements, mood check-ins, and savings — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device unless you enable iCloud sync (a premium feature). We also store a small number of app preferences (such as your device identifier and cached settings) in UserDefaults, and your free trial start date in the iOS Keychain. None of this data is accessible to us.

iCloud Sync (Premium Feature)

Premium subscribers can optionally sync app data across devices using Apple's CloudKit service. When enabled, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account, managed and encrypted by Apple. Cross-device family sharing uses Apple's CKShare mechanism. We do not have access to your iCloud data. For more information, see Apple's iCloud privacy documentation.

Subscriptions and Purchases

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or purchase history.

Biometric Authentication

Kudos Chart offers optional FaceID or TouchID authentication to protect parent settings. Biometric data is processed entirely on your device by Apple's LocalAuthentication framework and is never accessed by or transmitted to us.

Children's Privacy

Kudos Chart is designed for families with children ages 4–12. Because we do not collect any personal information from anyone — children or adults — the app is compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations by design. No account creation is required to use the app.

Performance and Crash Diagnostics

Kudos Chart uses Apple's MetricKit framework to receive aggregated performance metrics and crash diagnostics. This data is collected and processed by Apple — not by us — and includes information such as app launch times, hang rates, and crash reports. It contains no personal information, no user content, and no identifiers that could be linked to you. This data is only delivered to us if you have opted in to sharing analytics with app developers in your device settings (Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements > Share with App Developers).

Third-Party Services

Kudos Chart does not integrate any third-party services, SDKs, or APIs beyond Apple's own frameworks (SwiftData, CloudKit, StoreKit, LocalAuthentication, MetricKit). We do not share data with any third parties.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
