Earn Stars

Chores go from "ugh" to "done!" when every task earns stars your kid actually cares about. Set point values, mark tasks as complete, and watch motivation click.

🏦

Kudos Bank

A savings account that earns real interest. Your kid learns what compound growth looks like before they learn long division. Deposit stars, watch them grow, learn patience pays.

🏆

Achievements

Streaks, levels, and milestones that make "just one more day" feel worth it. Twelve achievements across consistency, points, and task completion.

🛡

Parent Controls

Your dashboard, your rules. PIN-locked and approval-based. Set up tasks, manage rewards, and see everything your child is doing — without them changing the rules.

Achievements

Up and running in two minutes.

1

Set up tasks

Add chores, homework, or any habit you want to encourage. Set how many stars each one earns. You decide what matters.

2

Kids earn stars

They check off tasks, build streaks, and watch their star balance grow. The app handles the celebrating — you just approve.

3

Redeem rewards

Rewards you define together. Screen time, a trip to the park, staying up late. When they've earned enough stars, they cash in.

This isn't just a sticker chart with a screen.

Kudos Chart is built on principles that actually change behavior — the same ones taught in graduate programs and used in clinical settings. Here's what's under the hood.

Positive reinforcement

Reward the behavior you want to see more of. Stars make completing tasks feel like winning, not obeying. Over time, the behavior becomes the default.

🔁

Habit fading

External rewards are training wheels, not the destination. Kudos Chart automatically reduces point values as behaviors become routine — because the goal is a kid who does it on their own.

🌱

Growth mindset

Achievement messages praise effort and persistence, not just results. "You showed up five days in a row" beats "you're so smart." The research is clear on this one.

💲

Financial literacy

The Kudos Bank accrues interest daily on saved stars and pays out weekly. Your kid experiences growth firsthand. Delayed gratification stops being abstract and starts being strategy.

👨‍🎓

Why I built this.

I'm a parent and a behavioral scientist. I spent years studying how habits form, how motivation works, and how to make behavior change stick. Then I had a kid and realized none of the chore chart apps used any of it.

Star charts taped to the fridge last about a week. Apps that are just digital sticker charts aren't much better. So I built the tool I actually wanted: one that uses real behavioral science, teaches financial literacy through play, and gives parents a dashboard that respects their time. My partner tests every update and helped shape the features. If it doesn't survive a real morning routine, it goes back to the drawing board.

Kudos Chart isn't another productivity app repurposed for kids. It's built from the ground up for families, by someone who does this for a living — and who also has to get an eight-year-old to make their bed every morning.

And there's a lot more in there.

😊

Mood Check-ins

Daily emotional tracking helps you see what's going on beneath the surface. Comes with age-appropriate coping strategies.

🎯

Weekly Challenges

Bonus star opportunities that keep things fresh. Set custom goals or pick from the template library.

🛡

Streak Shields

Earned at 7, 14, and 30 days of consistency. Life happens — shields protect their hard-won streaks when it does.

💯

Focus Tasks

1.5x star multiplier for the habits that matter most right now. Spotlight what you want your kid working on this week.

📈

Habit Fading

Points automatically decrease as behaviors become routine. That's not a bug — that's the whole point.

💰

Savings Interest

Stars in the Kudos Bank earn interest daily, paid out weekly. Your kid learns that patience literally pays. Delayed gratification, gamified.

💡

Requests

Kids suggest their own tasks and rewards. Buy-in makes everything work better — they're more motivated when they helped design the system.

💬

Weekly Reflections

A guided family check-in. What went well? What was hard? What do we try next week? Five minutes that change the tone.
